The Bader Space Savers the most versatile belt grinding machine on
the market. It's patented tracking system accurately tracks belts from 1/8" to
3" wide over a soft buff or conventional rubber contact wheels. Shaped or flat
contact wheels from 1/2" to 18" O.D. may be used interchangeably with a
constant belt speed and 132" belt length. The entire machine will pivot on its
base to raise or lower the contact wheel to the optimum sitting or standing
working height. Drive pulleys are available from stock to yield any desired
belt speed from 1500 to 9000 SFPM. The rear mounted motor and recessed base
leave the top, bottom and sides free of the obstructions common to typical
backstand machines. The standard accessory
arms and the centerless attachments indicate some variations available
which may be added at any time. A mere change of contact wheel and/or accessory
will, for instance, convert the unit from a machine highly suitable for hogging
excess metal from cast or forged parts to one designed for the close tolerance
final shaping and finishing of parts such as jet blades , surgical instruments
or hand tools. Standard machines are powered by a 2 or a 5 HP 3 3600 RPM TEFC
motor. Variable speed, two and 5 HP 2 speed and single phase single speed
motors are commonly selected options. Special machines and accessories for use
with belts up to 6" wide and motors up to 20 HP are also
available.
Optional equipment in addition to the items shown include
magnetic starters with 110 volt controls, air tensioning work rest tables and
idler pulley tracking.

The Bader B
III Bench Model is a rugged and powerful machine designed for production
grinding and polishing but priced for tool room and maintenance applications.
The standard machine is powered by a 2 HP, 3 phase, 3450 rpm, TEFC motor.
Variable speed, single phase, two speed and 1725 rpm motors are available as
options.
The easy to use tracking system and the ability to quickly
change between a variety of useful accessories makes the B III the most
versatile bench model available. The B III can use wheels from 1/2" OD to 14"
and from 1/4" to 2" wide while maintaining a constant belt length of 72".
Wheels are available flat faced or shaped rubber, cotton or felt. Rear power
allows you to maintain a constant belt speed regardless of contact wheel
diameter or accessory tip.
Standard equipment includes one HD arm with 6
x2 serrated rubber contact wheel, one adapter arm with BJ tip and two BJ
wheels, full voltage drum switch, 6 1/2" & 3" drive pulleys for 5800 &
2800 SFPM. Additional drive pulleys are available to yield belt speeds from
1500 to 9000 SFPM.
Optional contact wheel sizes and accessory tips may
be substituted for standard equipment at the cost of their respective price
differentials. Magnetic starters, work rests, special purpose tips and floor
pedestals not shown here are readily available upon request. |

The standard
Bader Centerless Attachment converts the 5 HP Bader Space Saver into a
centerless grinding and polishing machine in minutes. Stock from 1/4" to 12"
O.D. may be run in lengths up to 25 feet. provided bar weight does not exceed
300 lbs and stock supports are used. The speed and direction of the feed are
controlled by a single handle. This same handle is used to release grinding
pressure when needed to protect the threads, plunge cut only one section of the
piece or grind up to a flange and remove. The machine adjusts for changes in
stock diameter in less than a minute. Typical uses include finishing hand
rails, punches, hydraulic shafts, tubular furniture stock and large diameter
drawn steel and aluminum cylinders, as well as applications designed to grind,
debur, clean and polish parts in preparation for plating and
painting |

The Bader
Spring Loaded Centerless accepts straight or tapered stock, mild ovals and even
irregular shapes like bamboo and rattan. It features the same type of single
handle control as the Standard unit above and also accepts stock from 1/4"
through 12" O.D. in lengths to 25 feet. Grinding pressure is adjustable from
ultra light to very heavy with the turn of the rear hand wheel. This unit is
used in production for such diverse applications as finishing flag poles,
removing cellophane from fiberglass fishing rods, sanding wooden dowels and
plunge cutting heavy forged tapered steel pry bars. |

The 5 HP
Bader Wheel Centerless can be supplied with either the Standard head for
straight stock or the Spring loaded head for tapered parts. It is most commonly
used with 3M Scotch Brite or equivalent wheels or abrasive flap wheels for the
deburring, cleaning and finishing of parts from 1/4" to 12" O.D. A handwheel
adjustment for wheel wear compensation is standard. A fixed head unit at
reduced cost is available upon request. Typical applications for Bader Wheel
Centerless machines include satin finishing, removing paint and oxide coatings,
deburring threads and preparing stock for plating or painting. |
